About Sports Department
History and Background of the Department of Physical Education
The Department of Sports and Physical Education of our college was established in 1968 with aim of promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and holistic development among students. Shri C.G.Hiremath served as the founding faculty members and led the department with dedication until his retirement in 1968 from 1998 to 2008; the department was managed by guest faculty members, ensuring the continuity of sports and physical education activities. In 2008 Shri. H.G.Patil was appointed as the permanent faculty member since then the department has actively organized sports competitions’, fitness programs and training achieve excellence in sports and develop discipline, leadership and team task. In 2010 Major H.G.Patil took charge as the NCC officer since than the unit has continued to achieve excellence through training, camps, community service and national integration activities.
