Objectives:
*To develop aptitude towards science and nature.
*To train the students with basic skills in identifying and labeling different plants.
*To make students self-employable taking botany as subject and their allied certificate Courses for job opportunities.
*To impart knowledge and create awareness about the conservation of biodiversity and to keep environment safe.
*Eco club inaugurated in 4.10.2020 and number of programs arranged under Eco club.
*Guest lecturers organized by Department of Botany

*Visit to Nursery, Biotechnology Laboratory and study tour is conducted by Department of Botany
Departmental Highlights:
The department of Botany was a minor subject at degree level. The Department Botany established in the year 1987-88 Botany Subject introduced in our college with elective subjects Chemistry and Zoology as per old degree course prescribed by Karnataka University Dharwad. The semester system introduced in the year 2005-06 onwards, now our college affiliated to Rni Chanamma University Belagavi. The department has well developed infrastructure like laboratories, LCD Display, Instrumentation room, department Library, Botany Museum, Botanical garden, herbal medicinal garden. The faculty are highly qualified and actively involved in teaching. Actively publishes articles in national and international journals. The faculty is invited as resource persons and to deliver talks in various institutions. The department organizes study tours, industry visit, Biotechnology Laboratory visit, Nursery Visit etc the department has MOU with Dr R.M.Rolli Associate Professor in Botany T.G.P.Science College Jamkhandi.
