The Department of Kannada came into existence in 1968. Since it was established it has a rich in teaching and learning. The department has the qualified enthusiastic teachers who have extended their knowledge to the young readers. We also qualify Optional Kannada students to become future scholars in Kannada. Along with the curriculum, the department has organized seminars and workshops to create literary awareness and knowledge about ancient and recent writers and critics. The department has organized remedial classes to improve the slow learners. Classroom seminars are conducted regularly to prepare the students for higher studies and competitive exams. The department also extends other activities for quality learning for students like field visit, projects ‘Special Guest Lectures’ and some more activities to enrich students.
